A little more about the Technique

Hello again,

I just thought I'd let you know a little more about the project, explain where the name came from.

Well, as I mentioned in my last post, most cookery books and magazines want you to cook for lots of people and as you know, not everyone has that many people to cook for regularly.  So in an attempt to encouraage people to make delicious homecooked food, I decided that I would ind a way to make it simple.  By creating recipes for one person, it makes it easy to multiply it by the number of people you are cooking for (or to allow for left overs for a work lunch.

Hence the name....

If you are familiar with making pots of tea, you'll know that the general rule of thumb is to put in a tea bag per person and add an extra one if you want the tea strong.  So with this in mind, you use the recipe as a 'tea bag' (bear with me on this!!) and add extra ingredients according to the recipe to cater for the number of people you are cooking for.  The extra bag is if you anticipate hungry people or the need for leftovers.

So there we have it.  A simple method to create the food you love without the need to eat the same meal for a week.

I'm working on some recipes at the moment and hope to get something up for you soon.  I'll also describe the trick that I use to plan meals to prevent waste and to make sure you have a varied menu for the week -without the need to try and come up with something each night and having to nip to the shops so regularly.

Until next time....
